Good to know

Can the Bible really be taught in a public school?

Yes, Good News Club can meet in public schools after school. In 2001, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Club v. Milford Central School that clubs may meet on the same terms as other community groups.

Children stay after school for one hour each week with a signed parental permission slip, and parents or guardians arrange transportation home. The club does not add cost or liability to the school district.

Good News Club is sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship of Southern California and conducted locally by the Ventura County chapter.

Who Can Attend

Who can attend

Boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome, regardless of religious background. Parents may attend with their children.

Children learn that God loves them, every person has value, and God's Word offers help for hard choices, difficult times, and relationships.

CEF Ventura wants parents and guardians to know who serves, how safety is handled, and how registration works.

Who teaches the club?

Specially trained Christian volunteers who care about children lead each club. Workers are screened under CEF's Child Protection Policy.

How do I register my child?

Use the Good News Club registration form, or contact the Ventura County chapter if you need help finding the right club.

How long does the club meet?

Children who participate stay after school for about one hour each week during the club season.
